Part-Time Hockey Trainer

Hockey Trainers are responsible for leading training sessions during the afternoon, evening, and weekend hours. The ideal Trainer will have experience in training youth skaters between the ages of 8 and 18 years old. The Trainer must have the energy and passion to motivate athletes who want to improve their hockey performance. This position is part-time.

While we develop an athlete’s fundamental movement skills of speed, power, agility and efficiency, and the functional movement skills that will allow them to improve their game day performance.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing high quality coaching and skill instruction while building relationships with the players
  • Lead both on-ice and off-ice training sessions during afternoon and/or evening hours along with weekend hours when needed
  • Become familiar with all aspects of the Hoist Hockey training program in order to deliver an outstanding athlete training experience
  • Give proper and in-depth feedback and instruction to the players you are working with
  • Ability to demonstrate drills or skills at the appropriate level
  • Follow the specific practice plan to ensure that each focus during a practice is given enough time for the athlete to apply what has been taught
  • Maintain the integrity of the program by providing a high level of coaching and skill development
  • Ability to coach skill development such as speed and strength, skating stride, and stick handling/shooting technique
  • Support a culture that delivers training in a safe, legal, moral, ethical manner to help athletes achieve their goals
  • Help with on ice setup and take down


Qualifications

  • Ideal candidates must be energetic, personable, highly motivated and comfortable working with young athletes. A strong attention to detail and proven capability to motivate and inspire teams and individuals to achieve their highest potential.
  • Experience as a hockey trainer and/or youth sports training leader is preferred but not required.
  • Strong and credible communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with delivering customer service in a setting where servicing the “client” is a top priority.
  • Must be able to work in the USA and able to pass a background check.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
